And now, a note from my dad to me and my sister about our pre-wedding diets.
Go light on spicy and salty food before the wedding. I have been checking my weight daily since July. I found out that I can add up to 6 pounds after a spicy and salty dinner. Most of the restaurants will add a lot of salt and MSG to spicy food to make it mellow tastier. Salt and MSG can make you thirsty and drink a lot of liquid during and after the dinner. I found out that it takes me 5 to 6 days to get rid of the added weight. I think the reason is it take time to wash the salt out of our body.
So take mild food with no MSG can keep less water and weight out of your body before the wedding. The difference for you could mean 3 to 4 pounds.
I look forward to seeing both of you next week.
Love,
Dad

people in SF are very mixed
My mom sent this email to my sister. "S" is my mom friend's daughter who is, in fact, one of these "mixed" people who lead "various life styles".
S’s mom told me that S will start her job in Seattle after graduation. She told me that people in SF are very mixed. A lot of gays and lesbian lived in SF. Life styles are various.
Due to the bad economic condition in California, a lot of robberies happened in SF or bay area, not limited to Oakland. This time when I dropped Chi-Chi and Aaron’s photos at Joe-Sue’s parents house in Saratoga. She warned us that if you leave stuff in the car, not in truck, there are high probabilities to be stolen even in nice area such as Cupertino Ranch 99 parking lot. Do not stay too late anywhere in SF or bay area.
Fight back against my crazy mom who doesn't believe in "various life styles"! Vote No on Prop 8!
find smart boy friend
An email to my sister, who is in medical school:
I just talked with auntie E today. She always told C and A to find smart boy friends. Her reason is that the wife with smart husband will have the choice to stay home or just do part time job when the children are little. If the wife is the only bread maker in the house, she will be very stressful to handle both children and work.
I totally agreed with her. If dad does not have job with medical insurance, I probably won’t have the luxury to retire early. I probably have to work till 65. Take time to find a good one. Try to go to every social event within your medical school to meet with those students older or at least same age as you.
Love,
Mom
