a very merry un-birthday

My other friend H sends in this story after being accused of having a rare normal mom:

i'm not so sure about my mom being normal. al thinks my family is odd now because when we were in rochester, we got birthday cake for everyone, 12 different slices of cake to make a whole one. then she insisted we all take turns posing with a piece of cake and blowing out the candles. it wasn't near anybody's birthday.

It's been a long time since I posted here, but my friend P sent in this little gem about her mom who was visiting:

she's also a bit weird. yesterday she boiled all my chopsticks to sanitize them... which is fine. then she boiled my toothpicks.
